Deutsche Messe, the organiser of the CeMAT international materials handling exhibition in Germany, will revamp the show for 2014.
In a move designed to make the show more visitor friendly, CeMAT 2014 will be organised into five main areas according to function - Move & Lift, Pick & Pack, Store & Load, Logistics IT and Manage & Service.

The Move & Lift section covers industrial trucks, cranes and hoisting equipment, aerial work platforms, continuous handling systems and port handling equipment. Store & Load puts the spotlight on automated storage and warehousing systems, including rack systems, factory equipment, pallets, containers, loading and unloading equipment and complete warehousing and loading systems. In the Pick & Pack technology section, visitors will find order-picking and packing solutions, including measuring, weighing and metering equipment. The Manage & Service section will include logistics real estate, finance and transport.

The show will also have a greater focus on supply chain, logistics and transport, through a deal with the TL transport logistics show, which also takes place in Germany. Under the deal, both exhibition teams will help to design parts of each other's shows, with the aim of creating a broader experience for the attendees of both exhibitions.

IMHX seminars
Informa, joint owner of UK materials handling exhibition IMHX, unveiled plans for the next show in 2013.

At the BITA AGM, Rob Fisher, director of Informa's materials handling group, said: “IMHX in 2013 will feature two seminar areas. One will focus on strategic issues with a seminar programme created by an outside agency.

“The other seminar area will be open to exhibitors, with companies encouraged to co-present case studies with key customers.”

Fisher also announced expansion into a fourth hall and the inclusion of a Skills and Apprenticeships Zone.
