Kalmar appoints head of services business

27 April 2017

Kalmar, part of Cargotec, has appointed Thomas Malmborg to Senior Vice President, Services.

Thomas has been working for Kalmar and Cargotec since 1989. During the last nine years, he has been responsible for the Forklift Trucks business line in Kalmar Mobile Equipment division. He has also held various leadership positions within Kalmar's Services business during his career.

"Services are a strategic focus area for us, and we want to become a true service driven company. I am very pleased that we were able to find a new leader for Services from within Kalmar. I am confident that Thomas' energy and drive coupled with his past experience from both Mobile Equipment and Services will help us drive growth in Services," says Antti Kaunonen, President, Kalmar.

1500 service staff

"I am very excited about this opportunity to lead our transformation toward making service the heart of our business. Kalmar has the most extensive global service network on the market with more than 1,500 service staff in 100 countries. Today, we offer our customers a wide range of services covering everything from parts supply to a range of Kalmar Care service contracts for all brands and types of cargo-handling equipment. Last year, we launched Kalmar Insight, our cloud-based software service that offers terminals a true real-time view of their productivity and performance. This will give us a solid ground to build on and expand our offering to new heights through leveraging the possibilities of digitalisation," says Thomas Malmborg.

In conjunction to this change, Stefan Hultqvist has been appointed Vice President, Forklift Trucks business line. Stefan has been working as the Head of Business Control in the Mobile Equipment division since 2007.
