Grunt of appreciation April 1st 2009 Rusmail Conveyor Systems
has installed a powered roller
conveyor that removes the
manual handling element
from production at Altro
Resins in Dorset.
The 6m conveyor is
designed to withstand the
loading of 800kg metal
moulds and 1.5m blocks of
resin which were previously
moved by a combination of
forklift truck and manpower.
"Rusmail's simple, robust
unit has really organised the
process," says Altro Resins'
manufacturing manager,
John Hull. "Because it is all
automated, as well as
tightening up our health &
safety, it has taken the
'grunt' out of handling such
heavy components."
The new system involves
the moulds being loaded by
crane onto the conveyor
which then pass under a
mixer to be filled with resin.
The end product is demoulded
as floor tiles.
Operated by foot switch, the
conveyor can then be
reversed to return empty
moulds for re-casting. More articles from Rusmail Conveyor Systems Ltd: |
