Manual to automatic
April 1st 2009

When Moores Furniture Group had manual handling concerns about picking large worktops, the manufacturer and installer of kitchen and bathroom furniture turned to Handling Concepts for a solution.

Handling Concepts' engineers designed, produced and installed a fully automated pick and place system using a vacuum grip unit which, on the push of a button, can individually count out a designated number of worktops from a stack and then place them on to an out-going pallet ready for dispatch. The system is fully caged on three sides and on the open side is securely protected by a light guard.

This eliminates the risk to the operator and anyone in the vicinity, and has also increased productivity by significantly speeding up the application.
