Rapid, flexible case handling
April 1st 2009

A specially designed conveyor system and a freestanding goods lift installed by European Conveyor Systems (ECS) are providing rapid handling of goods while minimising space usage in a new warehouse opened by Davies Turner at Bristol.

The solution devised by ECS consists of a series of fixed powered belt conveyors between the ground floor and mezzanines, with a flexible powered conveyor that connects these to the loading docks, so goods can be sent directly between any of the upper floors and any of the loading bays.

The flexible conveyor has been supplied in sections that can be linked together as needed, depending on the location of the loading bay being used.

All the conveyors are 650mm wide to accommodate a wide range of boxes, and the system can handle up to 1000 cartons an hour.
