BDL drums up conveyor business April 1st 2005 Advances in modular plastic belting are increasing the acceptance of motorised drums as an ever more viable alternative to traditional chain/sprocket and belt driven conveyors, claims BDL Drum Motors.
The Corby-based firm is dedicated to developing, designing and manufacturing optimum efficiency drum motor drives for a variety of applications.
Working with plastic modular belt manufacturers and other OEMs, BDL says its specially developed drum motors covered with purpose-designed FDAapproved profiled lagging, provide excellent drive for virtually all makes of belt.
According to the company the compact, fully enclosed motors are resistant to ingress of dust, oil, grease and impervious to high pressure cleaning. This gives long life, trouble free operation in applications handling products such as food, meats and poultry processing, salads, vegetables, snack foods, confectionery, canning and bottling, bakery, pharmaceutical and packaging.
With over 170 modular plastic belt drive profiles available, BDL will assist on drum selection and can offer additional design features – such as stainless steel or Acetal sprockets – to suit individual applications More articles from B D L Drum Motors UK Ltd: |
