Automated case conveyor chosen December 1st 2006 Mail order wine company, Direct Wines, has confirmed an order for an automated case conveyor system from Univeyor for its new distribution centre in Gloucester. Univeyor's system was chosen because of its proven ability to interface with SAP systems: "Unicontrol, is specifically designed to communicate with other high-level systems," says Mike Vernon, of Univeyor. An SAP system will be a key part of the new building, with picking operators being directed by a SAP-driven voice picking system, rather than the traditional paper pick lists. "We're confident that we've made the right choice in Univeyor," says Melvyn Brown, of Direct Wines. "Maximum productivity is a key feature of the new distribution centre and the installation of Univeyor's automated system will ensure that we can achieve that." More articles from Univeyor A/S: |
