Astec Conveyors has completed a contract to design, make and supply an OEM with a sortation system that would integrate with its check-weighing, lidding and labelling equipment.

A loop system was designed to provide smooth transfer of punnets of soft fruit through a check weigh station.

Astec’s Pathfinder sortation conveyor automatically changes conveying lanes, dividing or combining flow of product at speed, depending on unit weight and size. It was deemed an ideal solution and was at the heart of the system design.
