CSL chute to fill at Chivas April 1st 2006 When whiskey producer, Chivas, needed to increase hand picking rates and create more ergonomic picking positions at its Newbridge plant, it turned to Conveyors Systems Limited (CSL) to provide a solution.
CSL designed and built a bespoke system to be cost effectively integrated with the existing feed line at approximately 3.5m, diverting cases down two chutes either side of the hand picking line.
An intelligent bidirectional pusher was developed and programmed by CSL to provide an even flow of a variety of empty cases down two stainless steel chutes located on either side of the bottle feed line. This presents the cases at a much more accessible height for the packer and has assisted in speeding up packaging operations. More articles from Conveyor Systems Limited: |
