Doors set to automatic October 1st 2004 Large scale, Scandinavian fitted kitchen, bathroom and bedroom producer, HTH, is benefiting from a Univeyor automated picking system.
The system, which takes up only one third of the space of the previous operation, is centred around an automated transfer car mounted with a picking robot that has a special telescopic arm and suction head designed to handle cupboard doors. Working in an aisle of special racking, this has consolidated seven storage areas into one.
Stock is conveyed from production to storage locations. Once all items are in stock in the system, the robot moves around the 450 locations to pick the orders. Competed orders are moved to the output conveyor and taken to the despatch area. More articles from Qubiqa: |
