DPD on a roll with Caljan
September 1st 2009 DPD, Germany, has installed 76
Caljan Rite-Hite RollerTrack
telescopic conveyors to handle parcel
loading in its new hall at facilities in
Frankfurt. The roller loaders have
been developed specifically to handle
the needs of the Frankfurt depot.
High side guards ensure parcels
remain on the conveyor despite the
sharp descent.Hydraulic cylinders at
the tail of the conveyor enable it to be
lifted or lowered to suit the loading
height of the incoming vehicle.
In addition to the roller loaders,
Caljan Rite-Hite has also supplied 19
pre-sorting modules. Each one is able
to sort approximately 1200 parcels an
hour, regardless of shape – routing
them to one of three destinations as
appropriate. This space saving unit is
ergonomic to work with, reducing the
risk of repetitive strains and back
