A carousel layout was
used for rapid sortation,
made easier as the
PowerFlex powered conveyor
could be used to create a
circle in 7.3m of conveyor.
PowerFlex was suitable as
the large rugged castors
allowed for the unit to be
quickly relocated, compacted
(3:1 ratio) and stored away.
From the discharge end of
the fixed conveyor, a second
PowerFlex unit conveys the
parcels into a 40ft trailor on
the opposite side of the
depot for onward despatch
to the central hub.
Overall depot sorting time
has been reduced by
