Goods inward centre September 1st 2010 CeDo, leading manufacturer and
supplier of polyethylene and
aluminium disposable household
branded products, recently appointed
Conveyor Systems to design and
supply a goods inwards centre for
unloading boxed goods from 20-40ft
vehicle containers at its Telford plant.
CSL designed and supplied a new
hot dipped galvanised 1.5m high
docking platform that was
strategically positioned under a
weatherproof canopy. The dock was
designed for maximum flexibility and
incorporates a levelling device to
facilitate the unloading of vehicles of
differing heights. Using a
600mm wide powered
flexible conveyor roller
from the Flexy.co.uk range,
the conveyor can extend up
to 15m into the back of
containers to minimise
manual handling and
reduce unloading times.
From the unloading
dock, boxes are transported
up an inclined belt to a
3.5m high level conveyor and down to
an area for hand palletising and
stretchwrapping.
A powered roller conveyor that is
interfaced with the stretchwrapper,
accumulates boxes that can be
quickly offloaded from both sides of
the lane for manual palletising and
feeding through to the stretchwrapper.
The high level conveyor was
designed into the system to provide
forklift trucks clear access to deliver
complete pallet loads to the area and
the stretchwrapper. More articles from Conveyor Systems Limited: |
