Kosme keeps the drinks flowing at Halewood August 1st 2006 Faced with an increase in demand for its lifestyle products, drinks supplier Halewood International turned to the Kosme range of palletiser, de-palletiser and robotic pick and place carton loading equipment to maintain 24 hour, five day operation.
Production at Halewood involves a wide variety of products, which necessitates versatile equipment capable of handling cylindrical and shaped containers in glass, metal or plastic in a wide range of sizes.
Pallet loaded empty containers are depalletised with a Kosme Depack Double-column kit with automatic sweep off on to multi-laned tables. Different speed settings are used to achieve a single container lane for the filling operation.
A Kosme integrated system is used for packing bottles into cardboard cases, comprising a Formaplus carton erection machine, feeding a Combipack pick and place robotic unit. This collates bottles or other containers into appropriate configurations, typically 36 bottles in a 6 X 6 pack or 3 X 12 pack format.
Two Kosme low level Palpack automatic palletiser machines are also used to load cartons, cases/plastic crates, or shrink wrapped product on to pallets.
Designed for medium/high output, these units pre-form product into appropriate layers before placing on a fixed pallet. More articles from Kosme UK Ltd: |
