Dutch multi-media chain, Free Record Shop, will soon be reaping the benefits of an advanced sortation system from DistriSort BV. Central to the operation is the latest quad-tilt sorter, which is available in the UK from Polymark GB.

Products will arrive on two in-feed lanes and be sorted to one of 480 destinations by way of the EPS 34 sorter. The system has the capacity to handle 20,000 Quad trays per hour, with each tray held in individual aluminium frame carriers with a number of carriers linked to create a complete flow path over the desired drop positions.

A feature of this system is the advanced design of the timing belt, which enables a positive powered drive without the risk of slippage, adding to reliability and precise control.

With this sortation scheme, the exact contents of each box is traceable throughout the whole supply chain.
