MCM takes five at Mitras August 1st 2006 MCM Conveyors recently returned to Mitras Automotive to complete the fifth in a series of overhead conveyor installations, designed to improve handling efficiencies, flow of goods and storage at the Winsford manufacturing plant.
Mitras Automotive supplies 1 & 2 Tier products to the automotive industry.
The new MCM system handles plastic tractor fenders, which are manually loaded on to 276 purpose designed conveying jigs to be transported on Powertrack 60 overhead conveyor. The conveyor tracks are mounted to overhead roof supports to ensure secure, safe handling operations.
MCM provided and installed a main system panel, sited at the unload end, with full controls including emergency stop, lubrication on/off and speed control facilities. The system has the ability for 'continuous run' dictated by the in-built speed controller, or the unload operator can adjust a variable speed dial, housed on the front of the electrical panel.
The whole programme, from order placement to the system being operational, including modifications to the existing system, took under four weeks without any disruption to production.
While working overhead appropriate measures were taken to protect and safeguard operatives on site. More articles from Amber Automation (formerly Mcm): |
