On the case of improved bottle flow December 1st 2005 To increase handling efficiency and the flow of cases from a case erector located on a mezzanine, down to a manual packing station in its bottling hall, William Grants & Sons Distillers has appointed the services of Conveyor Systems Limited (CSL).
In order to overcome restricted space at the site, CSL utilised existing overhead conveyors. This also proved to be a cost effective solution. As well as carrying out a complete overhaul of the existing system, CSL rerouted it to feed an adjacent bottling line.
Access to refurbish the conveyor was carefully planned and new belting, drive assembly and tension unit were fitted.
This conveyor was then integrated with new sections of equipment, which include belt, powered rollers, gravity rollers and two 90° skate wheel bends.
Close liaison throughout the project ensured safety during installation while CSL worked at height over expensive bottling plant.
The re-routed conveying line now feeds cases down to an easily accessible packing height of 750mm. More articles from Conveyor Systems Limited: |
