Safe, controlled tote box flow

Conveyor Systems has recently reviewed the order picking process at Robert Lee (London) and provided a system that increases efficiency and reduces staff movements within the restricted space available.

Following a site survey CSL has installed a declining belt conveyor at the plumbing products supplier.

Parallel to a mezzanine edge, this 7.9m system provides a safe and controlled flow of tote boxes from the upper level.

Complete orders are placed on to gravity roller conveyor positioned at right angles to the belt conveyor, feeding around a 90� spiral bend to facilitate a smooth transfer from the horizontal to the decline conveyor.

The supporting legs for the decline conveyor are positioned to provide a clear through way for personnel and palletised loads. High level side guides are fitted to ensure product is safely transported from the mezzanine down to ground floor level.

The whole system was installed and commissioned by CSL, including control panels and appropriate connections.
