Spiralling into control April 1st 2006 When Diageo decided to make changes to its packaging lines, the contract went to material handling specialist, Conveyor Systems. This was for the supply of powered roller/diverter units and two spiral elevators to transport sealed cases of 6/12 bottles of whisky from the bottling hall, upwards to high level existing conveyors and onwards to the palletisers.
Diageo planned to replace existing side grip elevators with spiral conveyors in order to reduce product damage to a minimum.
CSL's spiral conveyors are fitted with an inverter as standard to allow speed variation as required, and to avoid 'snatch' if starting and stopping under load. High friction inserts in the slats ensure smooth transfer and prevent slippage. More articles from Conveyor Systems Limited: |
