Birch scissor lift tables help to lighten the load

Fine furnishings retailer, H Ponsford Limited turned to Birch Engineering to improve its vehicle loading and unloading operations.

The loading bay area at the Sheffield store handles a considerable daily amount of particularly heavy goods all previously moved via a fixed loading dock system. This arrangement posed certain difficulties, chief among them being the safety considerations of the company’s vehicle drivers, whilst handling stock in the loading bay area.

Birch Engineering (Cuffley) Ltd, supplied two M3 005160D2 scissor lift tables to assist in the unloading and loading of the vehicles.

Each table provides a platform size of 3500mm x 3200mm, a capacity of 500kg and includes a special loading flap fitted to one end of the platform; the package also included an inspection hatch and double external lowering valves at the cylinders.

Birch Engineering’s scissor lift tables permit a level loading area and are used constantly during each working day. Installation was completed within two days.
