Frame boosts thermal efficiency March 1st 2011 The Hörmann ThermoFrame
improves the thermal
efficiency of sectional
overhead doors. This new accessory
is easy to fit with the door frame and
provides a thermal break between
the frame and the fabric of the
building. The heavy duty plastic
ThermoFrame and additional seals
improve the overall door seal
minimising losses between the door
and frame.
A significant improvement in
thermal insulation of up to 20% per
door can be achieved when the
ThermoFrame is fitted, even with
Hörmann's insulated SPU sectional
door, which features 42mm thick
rigid,CFC free, PU foam insulation.
For cold stores a more dramatic
40% improvement can be achieved
when the ThermoFrame is combined
with the double insulated DPU door
fitted with new UPVC locating and
lintel profiles. The DPU door has
80mm thick insulation and thermal
breaks between sections.
The company says: "Available for
domestic and industrial sectional
doors Hörmann unveiled the new
ThermoFrame at the Bau exhibition
in Munich.
"With energy costs escalating,
there is greater demand for products
that improve insulation for both
economic and environmental
reasons. Thermoframe offers a simple
route to improved insulation values."
The new ThermoFrame will be
available from April 2011.
