Shhhhhut in noise, keep out weather

Union Industries has installed a huge Ramdoor Super at the Corus plant in South Yorkshire.

Union, which designs, manufactures and installs the Matador range of hi speed doors, worked alongside Corus Engineering Steels to provide a noise reduction solution at its Stocksbridge plant – which is based near a residential area.

With five of its Ramdoors already on site, Union had to design a gargantuan door – over 6m in height – for the entrance of Corus’ Ingot Preparation Department.

The brief was to design a smooth operating, fast and quiet door – and one that could stand strong winds.

After fitting a specially customised Ramdoor, noise pollution from the site has been dramatically reduced, working conditions are improved and big savings are being made on heating.
