BDL’s drums on CD ROM
June 1st 2005 For OEMs and those frequently specifying drum motors for conveyor applications, BDL’s drum motor range is now available to customers in CD ROM format for Windows’.
Choosing the right drum motor for specific applications can be time consuming and open to human error, which can result in costly mistakes.
BDL says its computerised drum motor selection programme is very simple to use and delivers a very precise method of calculating a particular duty and drum – speeding up selection and simplifying the whole process.
Following insertion of relevant technical specifications, the programme will automatically calculate the appropriate size of drive to meet the customers specific conveyor requirements.
Managing Director Chris Middleton explains: Once you’ve filled in the relevant boxes with the conveyor belt and performance requirements, the computer takes over to provide you with accurate details to specify the correct drum motor for your application. The details can be printed out if required to retain as a working document.” Providing details are entered correctly, the programme eliminates any costly error as a result of specifying incorrectly.
