Garment handling system extension March 1st 2010 Provider of handling and sortation
systems for both flat goods and
hanging garments, Dürkopp
Fördertechnik, has added a second
extension to the system it installed for
Aurora Fashions, the name behind
Karen Millen, Coast,Warehouse and
Oasis. The business has a 55,000ft2,
four level, central distribution centre
at Stanton Harcourt near Oxford
which can store around 1.5
million garments, both flat and
hanging.
The whole contract, which
has a total value of nearly 3
million Euros, includes a twotier
hanging mezzanine system
and a two-tier hanging garment
racking structure. It is currently
handling up to 100,000 flat and
hanging garments a day.
The system uses D-Store,
Dürkopp's bespoke warehouse
management product, which also
communicates with the customer's
own software. It picks and sorts
orders received daily from 1400 stores
across the UK, Ireland and Europe. More articles from Durkopp Fordertechnik: |
