Hanging garment sortation June 1st 2009 Dürkopp Fördertechnik has
completed work on an
automated hanging garment
sortation and picking system
for Next Group, with the final
stage including the handling
of hanging garment returns.
The first phase is for delivery
of stock to Next stores, while
the second phase, extended
the system for the delivery of
Next Directory orders.
Covering 50,000m2 on the
first and third floors of an
existing facility, Dürkopp has
designed a system to take
stock from an adjacent
automated high bay
warehouse for feeding into
the automated forward pickface
and sortation process.
Every garment is
individually tracked
throughout the system using
Dürkopp's RFID controlled
'Rolladapter System', which
carries unique product
information in real time for
tracking, picking and sorting.
The Rolladapter enables
individual hanging items to
be transported along an
overhead conveyor system
from induction to dispatch.
The device is automatically
removed at the end of the
process for re-use on
incoming stock, keeping
operational costs down. More articles from Durkopp Fordertechnik: |
