February 1st 2009 BITO's MB multi-purpose
container has won the
European Longlife Design
Award. The BUSSE design
award is given in recognition
of professionally
developed and
designed quality
products. Apart
from a product's
efficiency, the
award also
recognises
aspects such as a
long service life
and sustainability.
BITO has sold 3
million units of
the MB multi-purpose plastic
container since its launch in
1994, making it the best
selling returnable packaging
container. The MB is suitable
for distribution, storage and
order picking and is
configurable in lengths from
310 to 800mm, heights of
170 to 553mm and widths of
200 to 600mm.
A smooth inside wall
ensures full internal space
utilisation and allows easy
cleaning. Thanks to the use
of reinforcement and thicker
plastic the MB retains a flat
base, unlike many other
containers. This is a
particular advantage when it
comes to noise reduction: a
concave base will judder on
roller conveyors, which can
be one of the biggest
contributors to warehouse
and distribution noise levels.
Empty containers can be
nested, reducing the volume
of returned containers by a
space saving 75%.
Standard MB containers –
available in three container
variations, two heights, with
or without fork entry shoes –
will suit a wide range of
applications. BITO retains a
large number of MB
containers in stock, which
means despatch to UK
customers within 72 hours
