RTP green credentials
February 1st 2009 According to LINPAC
Allibert, its returnable transit
packaging (RTP) has proved
to be more carbon efficient
than single-trip cardboard
containers after just 20 trips.
This was confirmed by a
study conducted in
accordance with the new
Product Carbon Footprint
Standard.
The carbon footprint
analysis was carried out by
Sustain, under the new
standard PAS (Publicly
Available Specification)
2050: 2008 Assessment of
the Life Cycle Greenhouse
Gas Emissions of Goods and
Services, which has been
introduced and endorsed in
the UK by the Carbon Trust
and its partners.
LINPAC Allibert's Maxinest
tray with bale arms, which is
a standard RTP crate used for
transporting fruit, vegetables
and other consumable food
products, and its new folding
tray for the supermarket
sector have both been
proven by Sustain to deliver
considerable carbon savings
when compared to standard
