Stretch-wrap all sizes August 1st 2009 An unusual installation in a
purpose-built pit has
confirmed the ability of
Mosca stretch-wrapping
equipment to deliver
exceptional performance and
reliability in even the most
demanding of environments.
Penrith Doors, part of the
Jeld-Wen Group, specialises
in the volume production of
veneered, foil and moulded
internal doors. In order to
protect the quality of its
products during transit, the
company also manufactures
bespoke pallets that are
designed to match the shape
of the doors and so needed a
versatile stretch-wrapper that
could accommodate a variety
of shapes.
Mosca was selected thanks
to its proven reputation for
reliability, something doubly
important owing to the
placement of the stretchwrapper.
The layout of
Penrith Doors' warehouse
operation required that
forklifts need to be able to
stack pallets directly onto the
machine. As a result, the
Mosca stretch-wrapper is
installed below floor-level, in
a special pit dug by a
contractor.
The chosen model is
Mosca's automatic 506,
which incorporates a
turntable for smooth
handling. Like all Mosca
equipment, the 506 features
all-electric technology for
reduced maintenance and
running costs. More articles from Mosca Direct Ltd: |
