Call for more collaboration October 1st 2011 Pallet-pooling operator, IPP Logipal
is calling for increased collaboration
across the supply chain to reduce
CO2 emissions and unnecessary
mileage, and further improve
sustainability.
Part of the Faber Halbertsma
Group, the company is continuously
seeking ways to improve the
distribution process. This includes
operating strategically located
regional distribution centres and
implant operations with logistics
partners to minimise road miles.
However, Phil Storer, European
commercial director at IPP Logipal,
believes there is room for further
improvement across the industry
and is calling for closer working
partnerships to drive improvements.
"Collaboration is a key driver in
sustaining an environmental supply
chain solution," says Storer. "At IPP
Logipal our model is focused on
delivering and collecting pallets with
the clear aim to eliminate
unnecessary mileage and cost. By
working with like-minded logistics
businesses, we've established a
returns network that has been
developed to reduce our carbon
footprint and that of the customer." More articles from FHG IPP UK & Ireland: |
