Power to pre-stretch makes material savings February 1st 2009 Soft drinks producer A G
Barr is reported to have seen
film use shrink by 10%
following the delivery of two
new Robopac Rotoplat 506
PFS power pre-stretch pallet
wrappers from Aetna
Group.
Colin Gransbury, depot
manager, AG Barr, said: "The
machines replaced ageing
equipment from another
supplier and started work on
the same day they were
delivered to the Newcastle
and Sheffield depots.
"We deliver on our own
vehicles, direct to the retail
trade across the north east
of England and Yorkshire, so
it is important that the
presentation is good, as well
as the pallet being secure,"
he added.
"The Rotoplats were
purchased because of the
film savings we could
achieve, but an added bonus
was ease of use – programs
are pre-set for different sizes
and configurations."
The company
estimates it will make
annual material savings
of almost £12,000.
Currently each wrapper
is handling between 80
and 100 pallets of mixed
stock or single product
lines per day. More articles from AETNA GROUP UK: |
