Stretch wrap technology December 1st 2008 BEMA of Italy has appointed
Walsall Engineering Group
to act as its UK and Ireland
sales and engineering
partner.
The company will offer a
new concept in robotic
pallet wrapping machines,
designed to increase the
efficiency of production and
logistic operations.
It will offer a range of
BEMA stretch wrapping
machines that have been
successfully operated across
diverse industrial sectors.
The range starts with the
Silkworm LS, a fixed column
machine operating at up to
50 pallets/h, through to the
Silkworm BiTurbo that has
Fanuc robot to achieve
wrapping speeds to 160
pallets/h.
The sophisticated
wrapping head can achieve
very high pre-stretch ratios
in the range of 300 to 450%.
Less wraps are needed due
to the 1000mm film width
and, as there are less film
overlaps, further savings are
possible. The high prestretch
can take almost all
elasticity out of the film, so
the machine is suitable for
wrapping soft products. |
