UPM enables automatic production April 1st 2005 UPM was commissioned to design a product handling and counting system for Worldwide Dispensers to allow for 24 hour unattended production on a Netstal machine producing glands for a wine box valve.
UPM installed a horizontal belt conveyor in the well of the Netstal machine linked to the SPC system to reverse direction on a change in processing parameters and to discharge that shot into a reject bin for inspection by QC. All normal shots to be transferred to a swan neck conveyor fitted with a 22% open belt with cooling fans fitted beneath to reduce the product temperature prior to discharge into a box.
The product box is located on a load cell fitted below a belt conveyor located at 90 degrees to the machine and the correct product quantity required is converted to a weight which on achievement then energises the conveyor to transport the full box off and bring in an empty box. The in and out feed conveyors have sufficient capacity for 12 boxes to allow for 24 hour production.
The system allows Worldwide Dispensers to maintain product quality on an unmanned automatic basis. More articles from UPM Machinery Sales Ltd: |
