Sidetracker makes light of tight space
February 1st 2005

A multi-directional lift truck from Sidetracker Engineering is being used by racking manufacturer Hi-Lo to carry materials safely and efficiently around its factory in East London.

The material used by Hi-Lo includes rolled steel sections up to 12m.

Space in the building and the external storage area is restricted, so the truck has to be compact and manoeuvrable.

The Sidetracker supplied is a SB-25C seated model, which is 1760mm long by 2000mm wide with the forks retracted for travelling. It is powered by twin electro-hydraulic power units through a high-torque hydrostatic transmission and can travel forwards, sideways or diagonally and rotate in either direction about its own centre.
