Energy efficient February 1st 2009 Hörmann UK has a large
number of products
specifically designed offer a
high degree of thermal
efficiency and reduce energy
wastage. One example is the
DPU sectional door, which is
commonly used for temperature
controlled loading bays
as a direct thermal barrier to
the outside, but can also be
used internally throughout a
building.
Each section of the door
comprises double-skinned
steel sections with a thermal
break between the inner and
outer faces which, together
with 80mm of polyurethane
foam infill, provides
increased levels of thermal
insulation and a U-value of
up to 0.7W/m2K.
Gaps at the top and
bottom of the door and
those between sections are
covered with double bottom
and lintel seals which further
increase the sealing tightness
of the door.
Door opening and closing
speed is another factor that
can effect the energy
efficiency of a warehouse
door. Hörmann's V5030SE
high speed curtain is able to
open at up to 3m/s and helps
reduce energy wastage in
heated or temperature
sensitive environments while
increasing operational
efficiency.
Another efficient product
is the ISO-SPEED cold door,
which is suitable for cold or
freezer storage areas. The
ISO-SPEED combines high
speed and high levels of
thermal insulation with an
opening speed of up to
2.5m/s and 80mm thick
insulated panels which
provide a U-value of
0.3W/m2k.
To enhance its 'green'
credentials Hörmann UK has
appointed carbon and
sustainability consultancy,
dcarbon8, to assess the
carbon footprint of the
business and identify
additional measures that can
be taken to reduce the
impact of its office
operations and product
manufacturing processes. More articles from Hormann UK Ltd: |
