Highly secure installation

Door manufacturer and supplier, Kaba Door Systems, has completed an installation for Michell Bearings in Newcastle to increase the security of its goods entrance, enabling the company to achieve Known Consignor Status.

Specified by the Department of Transport, the status is given to manufacturers whose despatch premises have been independently tested and its goods certified as secure for transportation by air.

Replacing an existing 8m wide electrical up-folding door, Kaba put in a steel post to reduce the gap and installed a double-hinged steel Defendor personnel door with security access and Isugard roller shutter door. Sensors were fitted for automatic closure and safety.
