New door is designed for logistics & distribution September 1st 2011 The BIGDOOR ranges in size from 3
metres up to 30m wide (clear opening)
and with heights up to 10m.
Collinson has released the BIGDOOR, the latest addition to
its range. The hydraulically-operated door is designed
with industrial, agriculture and aviation applications in
mind.
The company says: "As a family company we have been
designing and manufacturing innovative engineering solutions
for the agricultural, industrial and commercial sectors since
1962, and BIGDOOR was developed as a result of our years of
experience and understanding of our customer's growing needs."
The concept is a door system which can be integrated within
new builds or fitted into existing buildings. The door is said to be
easy to use and maintain, and is available in sizes ranging from
3m (10') up to 30m (100') wide (clear opening) and with heights
up to 10m (33').
All doors are designed and fabricated in the UK in accordance
with wind loadings specific to a building's location, and can be
clad with virtually any material to either match the rest of a
building or to create a distinctive appearance.
When opened the door does not retract into the building,
therefore there is no loss of internal space or height. The
substantial overhang the open door creates provides a protected
external workspace, which is said to be useful for the logistics
and distribution and
waste/recycling industries. More articles from Collinson plc: |
