Stertil shows restraint October 1st 2007 Stertil Stokvis has launched
the universal Combilok, a
restraint system for vehicles
parked at loading bays.
Integrated into a wheelalignment
guide, through
which the truck is centred in
the dock shelter and the
dock leveller, the system can
help prevent accidents in
loading bay environments.
The control system is
installed in the warehouse
and operates the hydraulic
movement of a wheel block
towards the rear wheel of
the truck. An in-built sensor
determines the position of
the wheel and the wheel
block is then automatically
extended and pushed
against the rear wheel,
restraining the vehicle. As
well as improving safety for
drivers and loading bay
staff, it eliminates damage
to goods and equipment.
The movement of the
wheel block is accompanied
by audible and visual
alarms. These are supported
by a visual alarm on the
control panel to show that
the truck has been restrained.
When Combilok is removed,
a traffic light shows green to
indicate it is safe for the
truck to leave the dock. More articles from Stertil UK Ltd: |
