Stamp out lamp replacement problems February 1st 2008 The larger sizes of strip fluorescent lighting – 8ft T12 and 6ft T8 ceiling battens – are numerous in warehouses and storage area applications. Many organisations with 8ft T12 fittings were facing the cost and disruption of having to ditch and replace those fittings as tube manufacturers discontinue T12 lamp supply. A solution is now available from Energy Conservation Solutions which not only permits continued use of installed 8ft luminaires but also offers energy savings.
ECSL's Save It Easy units, when fitted to the end of high efficiency Triphosphor T5 and T8 lamps, provide the H/F ballast enabling those lamps to operate at full efficiency in old-style ceiling battens.
Foot long Save it Easy units at each end of the lamp – one actively ballasted and one an extension unit – now enable 8ft T12 ceiling battens to be converted to 6ft T8 triphosphor luminaires at a 56% energy saving. Central location of the shorter lamp broadly maintains the light distribution pattern and lumen output is more than adequate for the vast majority of applications. |
