Aycliffe, County Durham. The
Hi-Store Hi-Deck mezzanine
proposal offered Taylor
Woodrow rapid installation
and flexibility during
construction, providing the
ideal solution to Tesco's
requirements for minimal
disruption to trading in the
24-hour store.
The Newton Aycliffe store,
which opened in 2003, now
has a 2560m2 lightweight
mezzanine, which has
enabled Tesco to increase
sales space in this outlet by
40% for its clothing range.
A Hi-Deck structural steel
mezzanine is an alternative to
a traditional floor constructed
of concrete, and the success
of the installation has led to
Tesco choosing Hi-Store to
install two subsequent Hi-
Deck mezzanines in other
