Door design awarded
June 1st 2010 Hörmann has been awarded two
prestigious Red Dot Design Awards
for its ASR40 and ALR Vitraplan
industrial doors. Benefiting from the
Hörmann philosophy of quality
without compromise, the new doors
are said to add award winning design
to the functionality, reliability and
value for money for which Hörmann
is renowned.
Designed to blend in with the
glazed designs of many modern
buildings, the ASR 40 features a fine
uniform profile and invisible section
seams to make it indistinguishable
from fixed elements of the facade.
The ALR Vitraplan (pictured) is
based on the frame of the ASR door
but features flush-fitting, wide panel
glazing. The door frame is
completely hidden so visually
nothing detracts from the glazed
appearance, which is available in grey
and brown options as favoured by
many current designs.
Both the doors feature Hörmann's
26mm thick Duratec synthetic,
scratch resistant glazing which has
up to 20% better thermal insulation
