Freezer doors improved September 1st 2010 Klimate High Speed Doors has revamped its K2 high-speed freezer door to improve
performance while lowering operating costs
Following field trials with two large supermarket chains,
Klimate High Speed Doors has unveiled an improved
version of the Klimate K2 high speed door. Following the
launch of the K2 in 2006, Klimate has worked with supermarket
chains in the UK and Ireland to further develop the product.
The main problem faced by many in the cold storage industry
is maintaining a constant temperature within the freezer/chiller
while keeping a clean, safe environment. Problems and costs
occur each time the freezer doors are opened for a prolonged
period of time as more energy is consumed to maintain the
freezer's temperature.
The Klimate K2 is an insulated high-speed door designed to be
installed on the ambient side of the freezer/chiller door way. The
K2 keeps the loss of cold air to a minimum as the opening and
closing speeds of the door can run at a potential of 1.5m per
second (adjustable). Also, the firm claims, running costs
compared to other manufacturers' products will be hugely
reduced as the K2 does not require heaters or dehumidifiers to
prevent condensation and a build up of ice.
The K2 is made from heavy galvanized steel and powder coated
providing an easily cleanable surface with maximum strength to
resist impact and shocks. Seals are fitted around the complete
door to class 2, in accordance
with BS EN 12426: 2000. More articles from B I D Group Ltd: |
