Keystone lovin' beefy Bulldoors October 1st 2008 High speed door
manufacturer, Union
Industries has supplied a
record order to Keystone
Distribution's new Hemel
Hempstead 22,800m2
distribution
centre.
Keystone's
previous depot
was destroyed
in the
Buncefield oil
depot
explosion.
The
purpose-built
centre supplies 1,200
McDonald's restaurants
throughout the UK and has
benefitted from the
installation of 14 Eiger
Doors and 11 Bulldoors.
All but one of the
Bulldoors are employed
internally, while the Eiger
Doors provide benefits in
terms of energy savings,
freezer efficiency and low
maintenance costs.
Manufactured as part of
the Matadoor range of Hi
Speed Roller Doors, the
doors are activated to open
automatically at speeds of
1.7m per second, using a
combination of Internal
Induction Loop and External
Radar Motion Sensor.
The Bulldoors have a
'Crash-out' facility, which
ensures the door remains
operable if hit by a vehicle.
The Eiger Doors also feature
the crash-out device as well
as a patented dehumidified
air circulatory system that
removes the moisture that
causes ice to form and keeps
the drive and working parts
dry and clean.
The Eiger Doors at
Keystone are also used in a
new concept to provide air
locks between freezer areas. More articles from Union Industries: |
