Mobile yard ramp for heavy equipment June 1st 2008 A mobile yard ramp from
Thorworld Industries is
providing the loading and
unloading solution for heavy
construction equipment at
the Terex facility in Warwick.
It is used for offloading new
machines transported in
containers or on standard
40ft long trailers. The
machines are stored on site
prior to delivery to UK
dealers and customers, then
driven up the yard ramp and
loaded on to trailers or into
containers.
Thorworld built the
special 15,000kg single axle
capacity ramp, with a
useable width of 2650mm
instead of the standard
2250mm width, so that it
could be used with the
widest and heaviest
machines handled (12.5t
excavators). The ramp has a
serrated open grid deck for
positive traction in all
weather conditions, with a
hand-operated hydraulic
pump raising it to the
required height. Although
screwed to the ground the
screws can be removed, and
a built-in tow bar allows the
ramp to be moved by
forklift. More articles from Thorworld Industries: |
