Ramp system cooks up fast unloading February 1st 2008 A combination of a yard
ramp and an extending dock
leveller from Thorworld
Industries has cut down the
turnaround time for trucks
unloading finished goods at
kitchen appliance
manufacturer, CDA Group.
The 10 tonne capacity
Thorworld ramp is positioned
inside the good inwards
warehouse at the company's
Langar, Nottingham site.
With an overall length of
12,200mm and a useable
width of 2250mm, the ramp
is solidly built with a steel
superstructure using the
latest solid beam technique.
It can be raised to a height of
1680mm. Fixed to one end
of the ramp is an electro
hydraulic dock leveller
measuring 2250wide x
2500mm long.
Incorporating a telescopic
sliding lip which can be
extended up to 500mm and
operated to +1.6m and
-900mm, it can reach right
inside to the floor of the
vehicle being unloaded.
The versatile system is
used to help unload all the
different types and sizes of
vehicles that serve the
warehouse. The system can
be set up automatically in
seconds by the push of a
button, allowing forklift
trucks to quickly enter a
vehicle to begin unloading. More articles from Thorworld Industries: |
