Saving energy saves costs
February 1st 2010

One of the most expensive areas of any business is the goods in / goods out bay.Without considering the security issues for a moment, money can literally pour out of the door through the loss of either heating or cooling if the right equipment is not being used.

Ro-Dor, the UK's leading manufacturer of PVCu roller shutter doors, is championing the installation of "fit for purpose" bay equipment through its work in the food manufacture and preparation sector and general industrial warehousing.

"Incredible savings can be made in terms of energy cost," says business development manager Peter White. "In every case we are able to show how the installation of the right equipment can result in real savings to our clients. We have a system for estimating potential savings following the installation of one of our range of rapid roll doors for example, which is based on specific information given to us by the customer about their environment, right down to the average wind speeds in their location." Based on this very specific information a calculation can be made as to the estimated reduction in energy used, calculated through to savings on the bottom line.

"Whether your preferred environment is heated in the winter months or cooled during the summer, the savings are comparable, and the installations can pay for themselves very quickly." He continues: "The savings don't stop there, the efficient installation of dock shelters can also make a significant contribution, as can the double skinned PVCu roller shutter we have been installing in the UK for over twenty years." So confident is Ro-Dor about the potential for energy savings that it offers a free in-depth consultation on request, and are fully prepared to assist with a financial package to help businesses (subject to status) make the change to environmentally friendly, cost effective premises management.

"We are committed to our environmental policy, as are a large number of UK businesses, however, we also believe there is an opportunity to combine this attitude with a reduction in running costs, something that has become a key factor in very recent times," concludes White.

Ro-Dor supplies a full range of doors for industrial use, including sectional doors, standard and insulated roller shutters, and a range of crash proof rapid roll doors.
