Bosch sets store by Nordair- Niche April 1st 2007 Kitchen appliance and tool manufacturer, Bosch, safeguards the quality of its white goods while in storage at its new 40,000m2 warehouse in Kettering with the help of two Nordair-Niche IDF19 floor-standing warm air heaters. Positioned at either end of the facility, they are automatically controlled to protect against frost that can penetrate the building and damage product in very cold weather. The Nordair-Niche heaters each have a heat output of 300kW and can achieve 18m3/s airflow. A Trend computerised control system allows remote operation of the heaters, which can be set to fire up automatically. In cold spells the heaters will warm the building to around 16°C. However, they are programmed to kick in as soon as the temperature drops to 5°C, preventing frost damage to the goods. The heaters operate on an air rotation principle – the heater draws in cooler air at floor level and discharges it at high level across the building, producing an effective mix with the warmed air and forcing it down to lower levels.
