Helping staff to keep their cool February 1st 2009 Offering a cost efficient
alternative to cooling
buildings using ventilation
or air-conditioning, the air
temperature coming off an
EcoCooling evaporative
cooler in the UK will never
normally go above 22°C.
When this is used as part of
a balanced ventilation
scheme comfortable
conditions can be
maintained year round.
According to EcoCooling, an
85% reduction in energy use
(compared to a conventional
air conditioning unit) is
possible.
A typical warehouse
installation was completed
for Oxford University Press,
where +35°C was reached
on hot days. After
installation, the temperature
has been controlled to less
than 25°C. Air distribution
from the evaporative coolers
uses ducted and direct air
systems.
Extraction of the warmest
air from the top of the
building uses existing smoke
vents, keeping installation
costs down. More articles from EcoCooling Ltd: |
