Mezzanine is a recipe for success December 1st 2005 The food and beverage division of Welconstruct Customer Solutions has won a new order for the design and construction of a mezzanine floor from Newport-based Bar & Restaurant Foods.
Driven by customer demand Bar & Restaurant Foods needed to extend its food preparation area by 90m2. It decided to achieve this using a mezzanine floor, meeting expansion needs within the existing footprint.
The company originally considered a concrete mezzanine floor design, but the slab loadings were such that it was not a viable option. Welconstruct Customer Solutions was able to offer a lighter construction option in the form of its traditional mezzanine design.
This was able to sit on the existing concrete slab and negated the need for disruptive and costly piling. More articles from Welconstruct: |
