Operations really motoring with LINPAC April 1st 2005 Storing, ordering and parts delivery are running like clockwork, says Springfield Motor Group, after centralising its parts department into a two tier LINPAC storage solution.
This has helped the company become more efficient and drive down costs.
Based in Washington, Tyne and Wear, the department services five Honda dealerships. Previously each dealership operated its own parts department, now orders are placed on Washington and next day delivery is guaranteed.
Linspace shelving provides organised, modular storage on both the ground and mezzanine floor for over 1400 lines of motor parts, and shelving can be adjusted in any direction to accommodate varied sizes of parts. Linbins and shelf dividers have been used to maximise neat storage of smaller items.
Steve Moodie, manager of the new centralised operation says the system “really makes the most of the space. Our operation is more efficient as stock no longer needs to be duplicated in our dealerships.
“All of this has improved our performance with the storing ordering and delivery of parts running like clockwork.” More articles from Linpac Storage Systems Limited: |
