Loading bays for new facility

Stertil Stokvis has completed a significant installation at the new distribution centre Multipart Supply Chain Solutions uses to service Lex Auto Logistics in Chorley, Lancashire. The centre relies on 12 dock leveller loading bays supplied and installed by Stertil.

Stertil worked alongside Bowmer and Kirkland, the main building contractors, to complete the installation, which will allow around 25 deliveries and 10 despatches to be made from the distribution centre each day.

The products Stertil installed included a swinglip dock leveller, wheel guide, collapsible dock shelter and a Thermadoor insulated sectional overhead door for each loading bay, as well as two level access doors, eight fire exit doors and three RapidRoll 660 doors inside the building.

"We have major strategic plans for the future but were constrained by the limitations of our former site," explains Deven Thakrar, Multipart's managing director. "The relocation of the distribution centre is a big step forward and will enable us to pursue new business opportunities and continue to improve our service to existing clients. It also provides job security for our employees and potential for employment growth." Stertil's range includes inflatable and curtain shelters and dockseals; wheel guides; mobile yard ramps; dock bumpers and vehicle restraint systems, as well as both mechanicallyand hydraulically-operated dock levellers
